ASTD NATIONAL BENEFITS

 The Sacramento Chapter is local organization affiliated with ASTD National. Our chapter benefits from this relationship by joining 130 other local chapters in the United States to share best practices, emerging trends, and collaboration toward serving all members of either local or national levels. Additionally, the Sacramento Chapter benefits by meeting the Chapter Operating Requirements (CORE) in order to remain in good standing with the national organization and ensure we are providing a quality service for our members and clients. ASTD Sacramento was recognized in 2009 with two awards for innovative practices. Please read the Share Our Success Awards from ASTD National.

	ASTD Chapter Operating Requirements (CORE) are a set of performance guidelines designed to help chapters deliver consistent benefits to members. CORE consists of elements in five key areas: administration, financial, membership, professional development, and communication, which are necessary for running a chapter like a business. ASTD Sacramento has consistently achieved CORE compliance for more than five years. Click CORE Quick List for the annual requirements.
	ASTD National awarded the Share Our Success for the ASTD Sacramento 5-year Strategic Plan developed in 2008. The plan identifies strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities; presents statements relating to Sacramento ASTD's vision, mission, values and objectives; and outlines proposed strategies to meet its goals and services. The plan drives the success of several initiatives such as expanding the volunteer board, transition to a new website, creation of a member talent bank, and establishing two skills development events annually. .
	The Share Our Success was awarded for innovative recruiting ideas used to locate interested volunteers to serve as associates support the chapter's board of directors. Our chapter posted open positions on LinkedIn, Volunteer Match, and NetworkForGood web site services, in addition to posting within our chapter website jobs listings. Our chapter received over 15 responses from interested people and filled three associate board positions.
	Sacramento ChiP Code CH8049 The Chapter Incentive Program (ChIP) is a revenue-sharing program that offers chapters an opportunity to earn additional revenue. Include the ChIP code when making an online purchase on the ASTD Store, including registering for national conferences and education events. Our local chapter will receive financial benefits further enabling our chapter's services.
