The ASTD Sacramento Talent Bank contain profiles of members’ expertise and specialty offerings. Employed professionals and independent consultants alike complete a survey in order for the chapter to collect categorical information. When a new member joins, the application form creates a profile with employment information, additional contact information and other options. Members can opt out of having their profiles viewable by others by sending a request to mail@astdsac.org . Casual visitors and registered users of the website can access the Directory module of the website. After log in, the user receives the screen with several icons including the Directory icon (book). The Directory has various categories of expertise where the visitor can search by a specific skill set (for example: Instructional Design) and receive a list of members with that expertise. Members are invited to submit several directory listings under the specific category areas. To do so, access the directory icon/module of the website, click Add and fill out the information, selecting the category each time, and submit. You will need to start a new directory listing for each area of expertise in order to be located in several categories.
